Life at CCoL

There is always something happening, and it usually involves food

The Garden at Church Meadow's 18th season is coming to life

With spring in the air, the Garden at Church Meadows is preparing for the season. We have already moved some rhubarb plants to a different area, started to put down new fabric mulch where needed, and planted seeds at home to be transplanted into our Garden at the end of May. We have even secured donations for virtually all of our needs from Theo’s Market Gardens (formerly Springdell Farm) in Littleton and the Sheriff’s Department in Billerica. We are so grateful for these donations.
Do you want to help? If so, please send your email address to Deb Rosson (rosson100@verizon.net) or Sue Cummings (sustev@comcast.net) so we can put you on our email list of helpers (we announce all upcoming work dates and times by email). You can also help by donating supplies or money as well as praying for a great growing season. Many hands make for light work. The more help we can get with laying fabric mulch, planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, and delivering (to Loaves & Fishes at Devens) the better. All ages can help, and we will show everyone what to do. Working in this Garden also fulfills service hours required by Littleton schools. The last two weeks of May and first week of June are especial-ly busy as all the plants and seeds must be planted then. No matter if you come to help once or often, it means so much. This mission of love has resulted in over 32,000 pounds of fresh produce being delivered to Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in 17 years!
We hope to see you at the Garden at Church Meadows this season. Thank you.

Good Friday Walkers

Sunny weather made for an enjoyable Good Friday morning walk this year.
As usual, the 4-legged walkers stole the show. $530 was raised for Loaves & Fishes!
